Guest guest
I had no idea there was one here. Thanks and do you have any cross streets or landmarks--I pretty much know the area or I could look it up if you aren't sure. Debbie 41 cd Rice Epicurean has sprayers where you add your own oil, it's on the baking aisle. They also have a lot of gadgets and turkey roasting bags, baking mats, legal spices. I found three measuring spoons (a hint, dash and one other) to use for old timey recipes I found in a cookbook. They have mandolins, cheesecloth so if you've had trouble finding any of that locally, go to Rice. For all the Houstonians on the list there is a Penzey’s Spice Store in the Heights in Houston! What a fun store! Carol CD 22 yrs SCD 5 yrs
Guest guest
Penzey’s 516 W. 19th St. Some cross streets nearby are Durham, Shepherd, Lawrence St. I used MapQuest.com for directions. I’ll have to check out Rice Epicurean Market – thanks for the tip. Carol From: BTVC-SCD [mailto:BTVC-SCD ] On Behalf Of Debbie I had no idea there was one here. Guest guest
I am so envious!!! I have been buying my spices from Penzeys for years, long before I started SCD. I just don’t live close enough to any of their retail stores. Houston is, unfortunately, just as far away as the other stores for me. Their catalog is terrific, but I’d love to browse in a Penzey’s store [grin]. Kim M. I'd been buying their spices even before I was on SCD, having been introduced to them by a friend in Milwaukee (where their home base is). I was in a couple of their stores in Milwaukee, and had a whole spice-drawer, but when we evacuated for Hurricane Katrina, I didn't even think to take my spices with me. So when we washed up in Birmingham, Alabama, and I realized they had a Penzey's... Hoo boy! Just walking into the store is a sensory delight. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
