Lee Anne,

I am proud of you to sort things out during this very emotional time. It has

to be soooo difficult. I hope I did not come off as rude, but am very, very,

opinionated when it comes to individuals remaining in charge of their own

health care. Doctors are important, but you must stay in charge.

Good for you, Lee Anne. Just be fortified with the knowledge that

has displayed no small degree of wrath toward prospective

patients who didn't want to do things precisely her way; she's a real

" My way or the highway " kind of doc. Be strong!

Good luck, and you have our support no matter what you choose in the

final analysis,

Steve

LeeAnn,

If your doctor is as hard-nosed as Steve says, I'd run like hell to

the nearest exit before I'd let her cut on me. Who's to say she

won't just do what she wants after she gets in there--even AFTER you

tell her you want the pyloric valve kept intact. I wouldn't let her

touch me with a ten foot pole.

Nobody would take my pyloric valve--that defeats the whole purpose

of the procedure, for Gosh sakes!

Thank you ... She said that I have the choice... I'm just

praying that YOU'LL all pray that I have the strength and courage to

be VERY VERY firm. I just don't feel right about it.

My heart is with you, Lee Anne. And I am glad that you have decided

to go with what you really want.

I recall ever so well the hassles of the pre op laxative. I drove to

Portland from Seattle, had my pre op labs and epidural placed, then

went to the motel and started the all night shits. My but was so

sore... horrible! But it did heal and I'm here, 9 months post op

healthy and happy.

My friend Ann refused to let her surgeon do the surgery on

her until she had a promise that she would have the exact procedure

she wanted. She negotiated this the morning of surgery after learning

late the night before that he planned to do something different that

what she expected.

Just remember, NO anesthesia or other pain pillers until you have had

this conversation. Dr has done perfect lap DS surgeries.

I am sure that she can do one for you.

Please let us lnow.. do you have an angel who will post to the list

on your progress?
