Guest guest
So, I always wondered what I would do if I didn't have access to food. I am sitting in the ER with my mom. I have dinner with me but they are admitting her. Scary feeling not knowing what to eat! Luckily there is a health food store across the street...but I can't cook anything. It's not a desperate situation...I have options of driving 40 min. home but its the first time in 4 mos that I " ve been faced with this! Just for fun (or torture) I walked by the vending machine....ha!!MarlaIBS-DSCD 11\
Guest guest
If they have a grill, could they make you a hamburger patty or a salad or steamed veggies? During Hurricane RIta, we bailed and from Houston to N. LA, we seemed to hit town just as they were closing up. We must have eaten at every hospital between here and there because it was the only place left open. Usually it's me being admitted and mom looking for food. It seems like the grill was usually the best bet, even in very small hospitals. Doesn't matter with size, hospital food is not great anywhere. They may have juices or fruit but I'm not sure it would be SCD. I hope you both are ok and your mom recovers quickly. Maybe you could make a quick run home for yogurt if you have it made if she stays several days. Good luck, Debbie 40 cd PS--Vending machines may have bottled water at least.
