Guest guest
I am just about ready to start working on taking my kids off gluten. I took them off casien two weeks ago and didn't notice much difference except maybe their tummies feel better. Raeli isn't asking for mylicon all the time and Kolson isn't sleeping with his knees tucked under him anymore. Raeli's peptide test came in at 14.3 so this is a good thing that she is off milk. We will know about wheat later this week. When you talk about withdrawal symptoms like a drug addict - what should I expect??? I don't know much about drug addicts!! How long do you keep these guys on the gfcf diet? Do all of you work with a nutritionist or are you on your own? The closest DAN doctor is about 800 miles away. The nutritionist I work with is in DC and I am in Montana. If you goof and they get any g or c how soon would behaviors start? Do you all journal everyday? I have been - so far it is worth it with Raeli - not so much with Kolson. Also, to the person (, I think - sorry!) that asked if God ever gives you more than you can handle - I am living proof unfortunately, that he doesn't. It may seem like it at times, but that makes it easier for the next hard time. The thing that I remember is that HE picked me to be my kids mom because HE knew I would do the right things to get them what they need. Just like all of you. So lets all keep pluggin along through the good and bad days and remember that your kids love you more than you know and they are thanking you even though you may not see it or hear it. Ok - I'll get off my soapbox...thanks for any input. Holly - Raeli and Kolson's mom
Guest guest
Holly, That was me, Janelle, not , but they rhyme so that's better than I usually do with names. I don't have a DAN dr. I would guess maybe 1/4 of us do? What do you all think? Not that I won't some day, but right now, not. I journal everyday. We've been gfcf since July. It is getting easier to narrow down what things bother my daughter once you get into the diet and start limiting the additives, colors, etc. they are eating. I don't think I really noticed a withdrawal. I am sure there was something, it just wasn't horrible enough for me to remember off hand. Have you found www.gfcfdiet.com?
