Guest guest
Hi Brittany, As mother to Madam Jillian who is almost 3 and not walking or talking - your email gives me hope! Jillie takes in 200 cals a day by mouth and up to 200cc a day of water. She gets most of her nutrition via the tube over 18 hrs a day. She babbles and does some signs but nothing too recognizable. She just figured out how to crawl in the last 4 or 5 months, can now pull herself to standing and can cruise the furniture cautiously. I hope she follows in Savannah's footsteps one of these days! Best wishes, (Mom to Ethan 6 tommorow and Jillie 2.75+ yrs RSS) > > I don't post very much at all, but i do enjoy your comments. over the > course of the last few weeks, actually more the last one week. my > little girl has started to walk. for those of you that may think > walking??? no big deal. > > well not so long ago, i was the mom who was drowning in dr. appts, not > knowing if i could hold on any longer. i was mother of two babies > essentially, they are 22 months apart, but big sis is at the same > stage as little sis so they may as well be twins, no family, no > friends that REALLY knew what i was going through, and i just didn't > know what i was going to do. savannah (rss) wouldn't eat, drink, > crawl, talk.... Guest guest
Brittany - INCREDIBLE!!!! I really want to see her at the convention this summer -- will you all be able to make it? Can you imagine what Dr. Harbison is going to say when she sees her? She'll probably yell out a big YIPPEE!!!! I am so proud of you for not giving up, even when it seemed so hard. Guest guest
Congrats!!! I remember those days - my nonRSS/SGA had severe hypotonia and they told us he might never walk...and used a walker for about 4 months. It seems that once they really walk themselves it really takes off from there...hope its true for you to! , mom to 5 and Emerence 2 19lb 4 oz 31 " > > I don't post very much at all, but i do enjoy your comments. over the > course of the last few weeks, actually more the last one week. my > little girl has started to walk. for those of you that may think > walking??? no big deal. > > well not so long ago, i was the mom who was drowning in dr. appts, not > knowing if i could hold on any longer. i was mother of two babies > essentially, they are 22 months apart, but big sis is at the same > stage as little sis so they may as well be twins, no family, no > friends that REALLY knew what i was going through, and i just didn't > know what i was going to do. savannah (rss) wouldn't eat, drink, > crawl, talk.... Guest guest
Ah, Britanny, you have solved a problem for me that has haunted me for a few months. But before I go into that, let me congratulate you and Savannah for the real milestone that has been achieved. What a great thing to happen to BOTH of you! Now, for the problem that has haunted me.... Every Monday night my family sits down together to watch " Seventh Heaven " on TV. It is a great family show and even though my kids are 16 and 19, we enjoy the storylines and the feel-good tone of the program. Lucy, one of the characters, had her baby a couple of months ago and she named her Savannah. It was really bothering me because I just knew that I knew of someone on the listserve who had a daughter with that name, but I could not recall who. Now you have solved the mystery. Thank you! Guest guest
That is a wonderful story. You should be proud of yourself for the struggles you have helped her through. Way to go Savannah !! Keep up the good work!! Soon she will be speaking sentences and letting you know how to do something. Congrats Marcy nas mom britts252002 wrote: I don't post very much at all, but i do enjoy your comments. over the course of the last few weeks, actually more the last one week. my little girl has started to walk. for those of you that may think walking??? no big deal. well not so long ago, i was the mom who was drowning in dr. appts, not knowing if i could hold on any longer. i was mother of two babies essentially, they are 22 months apart, but big sis is at the same stage as little sis so they may as well be twins, no family, no friends that REALLY knew what i was going through, and i just didn't know what i was going to do. savannah (rss) wouldn't eat, drink, crawl, talk.... NOTHING but now she is 3.5 years old. about 32 inches tall and about 22 pounds.!!!!!! there is an end (or an " easy " period) to those who are patient and just put their trust in God. Savannah is eating all by herself. we had a G tube for 3 years and an NG before that, and she had not eaten on her own at all until the last 8 months. she has really taken off at eating and she is talking (not sure what she is saying) but she is jabbering sentences and putting two words together. she eats like a horse!!!!! her sister (no rss) eats WAY less than she does. it is just incredible and remarkable the past few months have been in her development. but the GREATEST accomplishment of all is that she is WALKING!!!!!! at 3.5 years old, i thought that i would honestly NEVER see the day. now she has a walker mind you and she walks VERY well with it, but the walking that i am talking about is INDEPENDENT of her walker. she will take up to 15 steps at a time!!!!! it is really amazing. i am so glad for her. it will open up so many opportunities for her to learn and to grow. all the ot pt speech and many visits to the dr are finally paying off (for now). anyhow thanks for letting me share the accomplishments that savannah has made. for all those who are struggling, remember there is someone greater than you that will give you help and strength to endure just one more day, but you have to ask Him to help you. good luck to you all brittany Savannah 3.5 rss gh periactin, zantac
Guest guest
I want to extend my happiness to you and yours b/c I know what that feels like. Colin- was delayed in everything. He didn't sit up until almost a year and walking was clser to 2 1/2. It does get easier now. Congratulations. That is a huge accomplishment for her.
