Guest guest
Activated charcoal is used to remove ingested toxins, like drugs. It will absorb anything in varying levels so do not take it at the same time as other drugs. It usually comes in small black capsules and you take it according to weight, I think about 1 mg per kg but check first. Otherwise it is black powder and you would have to have a very good 3 yr old to get them to take a black powder mix! I tried to mix it with water once and it just floated, and with food it made a blck slushy mess. Good luck jena Can anyone share what the best way to use Activated Charcoal as a toxin remover is? We're doing antifungals for my 3 y.o. and I understand that activated charcoal can be good to help transport toxins. We are on anti-seizure meds so I don't want take it at the " wrong " time. I don't really know the specifics on the how much for body weight, but you might be able to find that with a search. AC does have a reputation for causing c, so be warned. Guest guest
What I do is put my kettle on. Open 2 capsules into a 16oz mason jar. Discard capsules. When the kettle whistles, I pour that water into the mason jar. At first, it will be a cloudy mess, but as the water cools, it all settles to the bottom. Once settled and cooled, I drink it; leaving about 1/4 cup of water in the bottom (I don't want to drink the sludge). You can use the charcoal from the capsules twice. Jodi had given me these instructions a long time ago. If your intestines are already inflamed, the actual charcoal can upset it more. I've never tried mixing it with food.
