Immigrant Latino Health Research

Project Manager (Full Time)

An opening exists for a Project Manager to work with several new and ongoing community-based participatory research projects related to occupational and environmental health among Latino Immigrants in rural North Carolina. The position will be based in Winston-Salem, with frequent travel expected to other areas of the state.

The Project Manager will work as a member of a productive and collaborative team consisting of social scientists, physicians, data collectors, and project management staff. The position will require performing administrative and coordinating work to carry out the implementation and evaluation of several research projects. Attention to detail is essential. Characteristic work will include:

Serving as liaison with community-based organizations collaborating in research

Coordinating and participating in recruitment of study participants

Supervising Spanish-speaking interviewers and lay health advisors

Designing data collection forms and supervising translation

Coordinate manuscript submissions and participate in manuscript writing

Being responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the study are conducted in accordance with the study protocol.

Minimum qualifications: Bilingual in English and Spanish; Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral science, public health or a related discipline; two years of research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Salary range: $35,000 - $60,000 plus benefits. Salary offered is based on qualifications as determined by Human Resources Department. All work-related travel expenses are reimbursed.
