I just wanted to say that this summer, I think LeeAnn and I can make it

to the convention. I have a free ticket from milage to use!

Do you all rent a car or is there no reason to?

How do you get an apt with Dr H? I know I have seen on here that you

were able to see her. Do you have to get your insurance to OK that or

do you typically have to pay out of pocket (just to get a feel for what

the process is).

Thank you for the info!

,

Actually you have to sign up for an appointment with Dr H before the

convention. Once you have registered for the convention with Magic,

you will receive a form to fill out and send in to schedule your Dr. H

appointment. She can only see a certain number of people and although

it is an amazing number, not everyone gets in. If you go to the Magic

website, print out the convention form, send it in and you will

receive the appointment form. Once you get it just send it in even if

you don't have all of LeeAnn's medical information, that will at least

save a spot for her.

, It would make Dr. H's day if you could bring LeeAnn to see her

in Chicago. To go from seeing her photos and reviewing her medical

records and encouraging that couple to adopt her, to then finding out

that they decided against the adoption, to then learning that you and

2 other families from the listserve were all interested in bringing

her into your families -- well, you can see how it has all come full

circle.

Once you register for the convention, then MAGIC will send you a

quesionnaire that you fill out and return. Meribeth Holec has been

gracious enough this year to volunteer to take over the scheduling of

the DEr. H visits for me, while I try and finish more of the guidebook

on RSS/SGA that I am writing. If you need financial assistance, email

Dayna, our scholarship coordinator, at daycarney@ everestkc.net.

Hope to see you ! Jenn Salem

Whenever we travel with Max's gh and syringes, I carry a letter from

Dr. H. or Max's pediatrician stating what they are and why we need

them. For all the planes we have been on, only one time have we

ever been questioned. You should not have a problem with the pump,

either, but you may want a letter from the doctor just in case.

As for the formula that you will have to take, I would recommend

doing what we used to do: send it ahead of you. We used to take it

to the post office, pack it up and mail it to arrive on the day we

were supposed to arrive at our destination. It sure beats carrying

all those heavy cans.

You are going to have a GREAT time at the convention. It may be

your first time, but after a few hours, you will feel as if you are

with family. I call it a yearly family reunion. The atmosphere is

so uplifting and positive and just wonderful.
