He had been in a car accident and had extensive intestinal surgery--with long term pain problems--the rest is history. Pammi
Guest guest
I was given a Vicodin prescription after my gallbladder surgery. It was a = two week supply with no refills. I think I took one and the rest of it has bee= n sitting in my fridge for over a year. I'm pre-op, but I've had two surgeries and I refuse to take any heavy-duty = pain killers for more than a day or two. This isn't because I fear addiction, bu= t because the narcotic drugs cause constipation. The longer you're on it, the more s= evere the constipation. After my first surgery, I was on vicodin for two days an= d I thought I was going to die right there on the toilet. Constipation combined with p= ost- surgical abdominal pain is a bad combination. I'm not sure if the constipa= tion would be the same after the DS, but I'll take my chances without the vicodi= n if I can. Apparently, Toradol, because it isn't a narcotic, does not have thi= s side-effect. -maria > Although using Vicodin for a short period of time should not cause addict= ion, > be very cafeful with Vicodin, it is much more addictive than most doctors= > even realize.
