Guest guest
You could always just use raisins too, as most carrot salads use raisins. Guest guest
Marilyn,Excellent idea. I put a bunch of cranberries in the freezer from this past Christmas and was lamenting the loss because of the move, but wondered about how tart they would be if dried. the half dry then soak and redry sounds perfect! Is it best to blanch them to pop the skins first before drying them (like blueberries)?AmeliaTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Sat, May 22, 2010 10:09:17 PMSubject: Re: Re: Carrot Salad - Question to Marilyn At 10:51 AM 5/22/2010, you wrote: Can't wait til cranberry season to make my own!!!! I haven't yet dehydrated any, but what I think I will try when I get around to it is to partially dehydrate the berries, then re-hydrate them in a solution of half-honey, half-water, and then dry them all the way. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle

My personal inclination would be to try it both ways and decide which one works best for you.
