Guest guest
Had BPD/DS (open) on 5/30/01 at Mt. Sinai in NYC. Dr Pomp was surgeon. My starting weight was 374; yesterday it was 292. I am feeling better than I have in years and am very grateful for the new possibilities it has given me. Dr Pomp has warned me that I will probably begin to slow down on the loss. I am mobility impaired with a bad back and two badly arthritic knees. While this news is somewhat disappointing, I am still elated. Hope this helps others the way earlier posts helped me (especially when I was pre-op), n Boden _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/
Guest guest
n, Thanks so much for sharing your story. What fantastic wieght loss! Are your knees and back feeling better? I had to have a knee replacement due to osteo arthritis and I am hurting like hell. I am hoping that the weight loss will speed my knee recovery up. Now I will share one thing. The last time I lost 130 pounds to get down to goal weight, my back hurt so much worse because of the rapidly shifting body mechanics. I had walked so badly for so long due to back and knee pain that my body didn't know how to keep up with my weight loss! Discovering chiropractice virtually saved my life and my ability to walk. He worked on me intermittantly during my 8 month weight loss and was able to adjust me in order to stabilize my spine during the transitions. As far as I am concerned, that chiropractor was a saint in my book! He retired about 8 years ago, and my current chiropractor just called me to see how I was doing. He told me that if I am in pain in the hospital next week, to just call him and he will get permission to help me while still in! Now this is what I call caring and loving medical care! Guest guest
Dear n, I think your weight loss is dynamite and I hope you continue to lose until you are very comfortable. Do you think you will opt for knee replacement surgery when you've lost more weight? Lydia Re: 6 months report Had BPD/DS (open) on 5/30/01 at Mt. Sinai in NYC. Dr Pomp was surgeon.
