Guest guest
Hi , I have taken Dilaudid on a couple of occasions after ankle surgery. Actually have had every pain pill from Tylenol with Codiene through Dilaudid so I have a fairly high tolarance due to 8 ankle surgeries. The Dilaudid always puts me right out and takes care of the pain. I'm in Virginia, so I'm not sure about the triplicate prescription. I know that you can't refill a narcotic or call one in over the phone...only dispensed with a written prescription. But other than that, I had no problem getting it. I hope this helps. Guest guest
I'm in Wisconsin, I am not up to snuff as far as all the narcotic Rx's go, but my home care pt. is on fentanyl patches, and we have to have a handwritten prescription every month for it. Guest guest
Hi, Michele. I'm in Charlottesville. Dilaudid just puts you out, huh? At the risk of sounding like a total junkie (I guess that I've already crossed that line!) does it FEEL good (or any different) from codeine and the others? Guest guest
Is Dilaudid stronger than Vicodin? I might suggest it to my surgeon as an alternative to Vicodin, but I was wondering how likely he might be to object...? Michele B.
Guest guest
Mich, Dilauded is a controlled narcotic and Vicodin is a pain killer. Big difference. Big help with pain, though. I have noticed that with the exception of this damn knee, a weeks worth of pain killers has been totally acceptable for getting me through the worst of post op pain. After a week out of the hospital, aspirin had usually been all I have ever needed. This included my reconstructive surgery. I think even if your doc gives you grief, insist on at least a weeks worth of Dilauded. Unless he doesn't carry triplicates, (many don't because of insurance reasons) he/she has no leg to stand on getting you through the worst of it! Hugs, Theresa > > Is Dilaudid stronger than Vicodin?
