You could add this to your smoothies ;-).  Can't wait to try it--down the line maybe.

If anyone has any remaining questions about whether Cocoa Butter is legal to use, I found this on the Digestive Wellness Site today:http://digestivewellness.blogspot.com/2010/05/latest-craze-cocoa-butter.html

Blog Post by Digestive Wellness: Thursday, May 13, 2010The latest craze - COCOA BUTTERCocoa Butter is pure fat extracted from the cocoa bean. For months there's been discussions about this between the SCD list serves. Everyone was wondering whether cocoa butter is SCD legal. The assumptions were that Elaine allowed pure fat from milk (butter) & pure fat from corn (corn oil). The same should apply to cocoa butter. However, some were afraid that Elaine would categorize this as cocoa/chocolate which Dr. Haas had his reasons to prohibit. Since Elaine is no longer with us, it's been declared that it's best to play safe and not use it.

Fortunately, Deanna saved the situation! Deanna was Elaine's close friend, and is a very dear friend to us at Digestive Wellness. Deanna stated the following:Elaine told me in a personal conversation that pure cocoa butter is legal.

Thanks to Deanna we SCD'ers can enjoy the taste of chocolate once again! Just open a bag of cocoa butter (available at digestivewellness.com), smell it, and you'll surely be overjoyed with the intense chocolate aroma - never mind the taste!

For those of you new to the cocoa butter scene, cocoa butter is the main ingredient in the chocolate industry. Think homemade SCD chocolate (cocoa butter, honey, nut butter, and roasted nuts), chocolate flavored ice cream, cocoa butter cookies... you name it. And no need to worry... I'm planning to share the recipes with you in upcoming posts.

So... pop in a chunk of chocolate and back to the kitchen :)Posted by Esther Russ at 7:53 PM 0 comments

I'll lay odds that all those people who ranted and raved at me when I

said the same thing won't apologize.

You know, I'm always up for something new especially when I've seen posts almost arguing you down about cocoa ;-).  But...do you think this will ever fall into the same category as pb and pork rinds or in my case it was 'dccc'?  Eating way too much instead of working in vegetables/fruits because it's a comfort food and easy?  Maybe it's not cost-effective like pb and pork rinds.

I like coconut butter because at least it has medicinal effects.  This would strictly be a splurge if I ever buy it.  Just saying...I'm sure I'll be the first to order some for a special ocassion though.  Just thinking outloud...
