First of all I'd like to share that I'm celebrating SCD for 7 months today!!!

Theres definitely been some ups and downs although thank god nothing

major...getting through my first trimester pregnancy was probably one of the

hardest things I've ever had to do without succumbing to carbs!!! but...I did

it!

Anyway, If my butcher swears he uses no starchs or sugars in making the

pastrami, corned beef and turkey...does that mean I cd eat it?? Also, is seaweed

with cucumber and no rice in vegi rolls (like sushi) ok? thanx for everyones

advice & help till now....Becky

Make sure there's no sugar in the cures he uses, as well as the spice

mixtures. One common cure is Morton Tender quick -- and it's not

SCD-legal.

Seaweed is not SCD-legal.

Hi Becky

Congratulations on surviving the first trimester - never easy to do, but

fiendishly difficult while trying to resist illegal carbs! Well done!

Hopefully, it will ease off now, and you can enjoy the next 2 trimesters, and

then your lovely baby. Forgot to mention, but when you're consuming a normal

diet, some mothers find that the baby is fairly large, and this can make

delivery more difficult, but on SCD, because the sugar and carb count is more

regulated and selective, the baby can tend to be more on the smaller side (I

think this is what used to be " normal " ), hence making it easier on mom during

delivery, and baby develops normally after birth too.

Sorry, but seaweed is illegal. If you wanted to make veggie bundles, you could

always use chives or cooked leeks to tie things together.
