Guest guest
I realize that quiche is more of a thing to just throw in whatever you have to use up leftovers, but I think I need some general guidelines. For instance, should I put chicken, cheese, egg, or veggies on the bottom? How to build it up from there? Should I add yogurt, or just stick with meat, veggies, eggs and cheese? Any actual recipes would be helpful too, just to get a sense of the ratios. Thanks! Peace =) Alyssa 16 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008 SCD June 2009 (restarted) Azathioprine 50 mg 1x per day Prednisone 30 mg 1x per day
Guest guest
Crustless Spinach Quiche was the recipe of the day from Foodnetwork today. Skip the regular flour or use almond flour and instead of ricotta, you could use DCCC. Here's the link if you want to check it out. Have spinach, plan to make tomorrow. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/crustless-spinach-quiche-recipe/index.html?nl=ROTD_042210_6 Debbie 41 houston cd dx'd 3./02 scd 12/05 bumbling along branching out; back in ldn 3/10 On Thu, 22 Apr 2010 20:00:45 -0300, Alyssa Luck wrote: > I realize that quiche is more of a thing to just throw in whatever you> have to use up leftovers, but I think I need some general guidelines.> For instance, should I put chicken, cheese, egg, or veggies on the > bottom? It's going to sink anyway. :-)I'd put the chicken on the very bottom, then some cheese, then someveggies, then more cheese. Then pour in a mixture of egg, yogurt (and some DCCC if you can eat that) -- you may need to add a touch of water to thinit a tiny bit. If you really love chees, throw some more on the top. Bake.Eat. You'll find my infamous Cheese and Bacon Mini-Quiche recipe in the recipe folder. Forgot to click for the group notification. You can actually use the recipe to make other quiches. For instance, make the egg and yogurt cheese or DCCC mix, add provolone or Swiss cheese, maybe a touch of homemade poultry seasoning, then mix chopped chicken and steamed broccoli in each of the muffin cups and put just enough egg mix in each cup to fill the cup 3/4s of the way. Or use ground beef mixed with some chopped chiles and then stir that into the egg and yogurt cheese mix. — Marilyn New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Undiagnosed IBS since 1976, SCD since 2001 Darn Good SCD Cook No Human Children Shadow & Sunny Longhair Dachshund Babette the Foundling Beagle
