Guest guest
Pam, I'm going to tell you what I tell everyone :-) Try calling Dr. Hess. Its just that I feel that he is the " father " of this surgery, so he should know better than anyone what can and can't be done. He is also in Bowling Green, OH, which is the next state over, so not too far from you. Call his office and see if you can talk with him directly. I am not sure how easy he is to get ahold of directly, since I have only talked to the woman who answers the phone, but maybe you can get through to him. I know I have told others to call him and he didn't see the " big problems " some other surgeons saw in their situations. Its worth a try. Guest guest
Great advice Carole! I called him for help w/insurance denial and he was so nice! The receptionist said to call after 4:30ET when he was done w/patients. I called at 4:40 and got through. Good Luck Pam. I'm sure there's a way around this. BTW, if your insurance will pay for teh sleeve gastrectomy portion of DS, they may also pay for the Scopinaro cut, because that is a gastrectomy also. I don't think the coding distinguishes between the two. But regardless, remember this is an investment in the rest of your life and YOU ARE WORTH IT!!
