Guest guest
Hi Janna, My son is 7 and on growth hormone. He has not exhibited any of these symptoms. Even with growth hormone and periactin, we still have a hard time getting him to eat. As long as she is hungry, keep feeing her. If however, she eats all the time and is losing weight, then I would call the doctor. Otherwise, how is her activity level? Is she sleepy during the day? I assume you have a regular bedtime and routine. That usually helps one get to sleep. I hope this helps. Ken M > > My 5 yr old RSS daughter is hungry all the time. Anyone else experience this?
Guest guest
I NEVER slept as a child (still don't). I never took naps and, according to my parents, always had bundles and bundles of energy. My parents finally instituted a rule that while I didn't have to lay there and try to fall asleep at my appointed bed time, I did have to be in bed doing a quiet activity so everyone else could get their required eight hours. I think with everything else going on, my parents just decided that the sleep thing wasn't a battle worth fighting. My mom always said that she figured I would sleep if my body needed it. Even now, I sleep between four and six hours a night and that's enough. I also ate all the time as a kid. I still do, however, the caveat there is that I don't eat very much in one sitting. I've always been a grazer and have preferred several mini meals throughout the day. It's a running joke in my family that what I call 'breakfast', most people call '3 or 4 hours'. I've also always been one of those people who just rarely sits and eats. I'm not sure if that's because of RSS or just my own personality trait (because I'm definitely a multi tasker in all other areas of my life). I noticed another thread on here about distraction and eating and I know that definitely applied to me as a kid and still applies today. I'm much happier if I get to eat while doing something else. ~Hillary 22, RSS
