Hey your date is the day after mine. I to

cannot tell most of my family because when my

sister-in-law had surgery they really harrassed her

because she went the surgical route and then when she

started regaining they really let her have it.( She

had the RNY). Not that I can't handle the comments

it's just I don't need it in my life right now. I have

enough on my plate with all my other medical issues

that are non-weight related. I am hoping the same,

that no one will realize the route I took. I just

planned to skirt the issue of my recent weight loss

and if I must I'll attribute the weight loss to High

protien heathy diet. The important people in my life

support me. Congradulations on your upcoming start to

a new healthy life.

Its too bad that you cannot include your family in your decision. But based

on your explanation. I would do the same thing. I was very fortunate that

not only was my family totally supportive (eventually), I was also told

everyone at work. I work for a small company (20 people). I had their full

support. It was truly amazing. I would have found it difficult to keep it

from them. They are so supportive and encouraging. They pretty much told

me to take however much time I needed, provided short-term disabiliy and

made up the difference in my salary while I was out.

......Just another side of the picture.

Good luck and I am sure you will eventually convert those who just don't get

it right now.
