Guest guest
Sherri- Glad that Abby's dentist appointment finished without any MAJOR problems. I remember when I was her age and getting X-rays, the dentist would be able to get TWO X-rays' worth on each X-ray, because my mouth was so small. Sure wasn't easy getting them in, in the first place though! Actually, it STILL isn't a picnic...despite rumors, I still have a small mouth, not a big one <wink>. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up Orlando FL
Guest guest
Thanks, Sharon, you make me laugh! And I certainly needed that! I have to admit, although I never said a word to Abby, I can't stand the dentist! And the cardboards in the mouth for the x-rays were horrible for me (and, boy, have I had a lot of dental work done!). I didn't let on at all today, but looking at that cardboard and her mouth I knew it wasn't going to work. I'll be extremely happy if she works some of this out on her own. And she takes after my husband on the mouth issues. He has gagging problems and so does she. She can't extend her tongue and had real issues with getting a swab done when the doctor needed to check for strep. With her mouth as small as it is, I can't imagine a dentist being able to do anything in her mouth. The dentist said the ortho has some other form of " profiling " on her jaw that could be done from the outside instead of x-rays. I sure hope that works because otherwise we may have to sedate her! Guest guest
Regarding the dentist, I know they can do a panoramic x-ray where the machine circles around the patient. I believe that you do not need " cardboard " for this type of x-ray. Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) almost 5 year old twins
