Guest guest
Sheryl and , You should be checking for ketones every morning when your girls wake up. Put a cotton ball in the diaper and then squeeze the cotton ball onto the keto-stick. Wait for about 20 seconds and you will know the level of ketones. Do this for at least a week and record the level. If there are no ketones, you should be okay, but you might want to check once in awhile, especially if your girls are cranky, irritable or lethargic. Sheryl, I am guessing that Dalia threw up because she was so upset. I'm surprised the ped. gave her those shots after knowing she was so sick the past few days. The shots alone can make a baby not feel well. Add that to the stomach virus she just had and you are flirting with disaster. By the way, it has been my understanding and experience that even though the virus may seem to be over, the nauseousness seems to linger on and off for awhile. Both Max and I feel nauseous every now and then - and so do some teachers at school who have had this virus. It does get better over time. As for the morning ketones, it could be as a result of the virus and will take awhile to right itself, or you could have, by accident, come upon a problem that she has had all along and you did not realize. Keep checking those ketones at various times of the day, especially in the morning. If they are presents on a consistent basis, then you will have to discuss this with the endo and see what he/she recommends. In the meantime, I would add cornstarch (just plain old cornstarch - we use Argo) to that last bottle of the day. I don't remember the amount, however. knows that. If you are still unsure, then wake Dalia up and give her a bit to drink before you go to bed That will help ensure that she has enough to get through the night. Let's see what happens over the next week or so. It may go away, or you may have to do more. Jodi Z

Guest guest
We bought them at the local grocery store in the pharmacy area. I would think that any pharmacy has them.
