Guest guest
I can so relate to the ER mix-ups, misunderstandings and grandstanding. I experienced this myself in early December when I went there because I was having trouble breathing (again). Usually I am rushed into a room, given oxygen and an IV, then the tests begin. This time, no O2, no IV, NOTHING. I was on that gurney sucking in air and really uncomfortable. I could not even get a blanket! I did have a chest x-ray, but the doctor " taking care of me " just ordered Xanax and presumed I was having a panic attack. I was mortified, scared and angry. I left there with nothing and immediately called my own doctor, who had sent me there in the first place because I was in distress at the time I called him and he could not see me. To make a long story a bit shorter, I DID have pneumonia and was very sick from it. I missed a whole week of school. Here I was treated like a psyche case by some stupid ER doctor who figured I was a perimenopausal housewife and ignored me completely. Needless to say, when I received the questionnaire in the mail to rate my experience, I was less than happy and satisfied. So, if it can happen to an adult, it's really scary what can happen to a child. At least this has never happened with Max. I needed a clone of myself to take over and then I would have been treated with dignity and respect. Jodi Z
