Folks,

FYI: the Washington State Farmworker Housing Trust, a

coalition of farmworker service providers, growers, and housing-related agents,

just released the first report on its survey of farmworkers around Washington

State. This study, completed during the 2006 agricultural season, is the

largest direct interview farmworker survey every conducted in Washington,

including 2,845 respondents from around the State. The instrument

included housing, health, demographic, work history and civic involvement

questions. The first report is concentrated on housing-related findings

with tables summarizing results on other topics. We are hopeful that

future work will analyze data related to health, employment patterns and

demographics including examination of subgroup differences.

I have attached the Executive Summary. Further

information and a link to the full report are available at the Trust’s

website: www.farmworkerhousingtrust.org
