Guest guest
Ugly. Very ugly. I get the impression that he doesn't want your records seen. What's up with that? That's really detestable. If not... hmmm.... If your state law says that he doesn't have to release them, then can you have your current doctor request them? I don't think he can refuse then, can he? I can't remember if you went in originally to ask for the records or did it by phone. Because maybe a visit to the office at a busy time of day in order to have this kind of crap said OUT LOUD in front of a waiting room full of patients might give him a dose of his snotty old medicine. Nah, scratch that. Sorry, that wasn't a productive suggestion. Disgusting and unprofessional behavior, I don't care what state it happens in. I don't understand that kind of arrogant behavior. Jean. Guest guest
Thanks Jean, I am a 13 hour drive from his office. Beleieve me if I were closer I would have paid him a visit already. I faxed him on different occasions and also called. I left 2 messages for him to return my call and he never has. The only person I seem to get a hold of is his NURSE. Oh well, I'll keep trying. I'm thinking he would send the records to me just to get me out of his hair. Have a good day, Roxanne
Guest guest
I wonder if he lost the records and knows he is in trouble for that. The whole thing sounds strange, like he did something wrong and doesn't want to be caught. I would highly suggest talking with a lawyer. Many will give you free advice over the phone and let you know whether you need further legal assistance. Kathy M.
Guest guest
Roxanne: You need only to drop the name " HIPAA " (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and that should be enough to start this physician AND his snooty nurse quaking in their white crepe-soled shoes. You have every right to receive your records in a timely manner and HIPAA is the governmental act that will speed up the process.
Guest guest
Roxanne: I don't profess to know the legalities here but I think I would get on the net and research all the professional organizations and boards for the state of Ga or where ever he now practices. There must be a licensing board with whom you can file a complaint and they should be able to tell you what your rights are in obtaining the records. Atlanta probably has a local med society and they should also be able to help. Is he certified in any specialty like Family Practice, Surgery, etc? If so, he probably uses initials after his name like " FACOG " or something similar. You should be able to locate those credentialing boards on line. This is absolutely ludicrous that these " professionals " , ie the doc and his " nurse " are stone-walling you like this. Looks like he has something to hide. I would definitely not drop this without making some noise to his colleagues and his licensing board!! Good luck and keep us posted. --- Roxanne wrote: > informed that when the Dr. was my PCP he was in > Louisiana, now that > he is in Atlanta, GA he does not have to give me my > records.
