Guest guest
, Dr. Yusef, a GI here at town Memorial Hospital, has started a Mind/Body Institute to help children with GI problems through massage, exercise and other stress-relieving, non-medical methods. Max was one of the first to try it. He HATED the massages and the touching. He was so tactially defensive that it actually made him feel worse. I am NOT saying that this is not a method to be considered, tried and used for RSS kids. I think that the idea is a great one and has many values. Max just does not react like most and that makes things so difficult for us. If your sister is approved for her paper, please consider me a source for some feedback. I assume she wants negative as well as positive experiences. Emailing me is the best way to assure I can respond without distractions. If your sister wants contact information for Dr. Yusef's program (I'm not sure I am spelling his name correctly), let me know that, too. He has been on TV for his program which I believe is successful and breaking new grounds. It might be a source for her. Jodi Z
Guest guest
We did baby massage on Alyssa in her first year. We started it as soon as we brought her home and did it for about a year or so. She always seemed to enjoy it. She is very texture oriented and enjoys many types of textures. We would be happy to speak with her or email her. Dayna, Mom to Alyssa 3 1/2 _____ From: RSS-Support [mailto:RSS-Support ] On Behalf Of Sent: Sunday, May 01, 2005 7:53 PM To: RSS-Support Subject: RSS - MASSAGE ? for parents of kids w/ RSS and RSS adults Hi, My sister is considering doing her capstone 15 page paper on massage and how it might help an RSS/SGA child (she is studying massage therapy). She will know Tues if her paper topic is approved. Is there anyone out there who has used massage (including any of the RSS adults) and would be willing to talk/email my sister? Is there anyone who would also be willing to email her with answers to some simple questions (ie one of the questions is how might RSS affect a person's day - any compensations etc)? Finally, there is a homeopathic element - Beth Joe if you are willing you seem to have the most experience with this... Guest guest
- I've been getting massages as a treat to myself a few times a year for the past 5 to 7 years, I guess. It helped me to relax (except for my " tightest shoulders known to man " ), though only for short periods of time. Felt good, though <wink>. If your sister would like to contact me, I can be reached at sharonkurland at yahoo dot com. -Sharon- Just an RSS kid who grew up 39y, 98#, 4'6.75 " > Hi, > > My sister is considering doing her capstone 15 page paper on massage > and how it might help an RSS/SGA child (she is studying massage > therapy).
