Guest guest
, First of all, Stirling has RSS, right? That automatically makes his appetite go down or be non-existent. What you have to do is try to find ways around that. Not so easy to do, huh? Does he have any signs of reflux? Most RSS/SGA babies DO have this and reflux could make him want to avoid napping because it is aggravated by being laid flat or not at a high enough angle to prevent it from burning his little esophagus. Will he sleep in an infant seat? Have you tried just putting him in the car and driving him around until he falls asleep? Lots of times the motion will make babies sleepy. We used to put Max in front of the diswasher on the floor because the vibrations made him fall asleep despite his fights not to. Also, if he does have signs of reflux, you need to bring this up with your doctor to see if there is something you can do to help. There are things like thickened formulas and foods that make the food heavier so it stays down instead of creeping back up. I'd plan some nice car trips and just put him in the carseat and go. Once he learns that this is a safe, non-hurting place to sleep, he may nap for you again. I wish I could offer you more. Jodi Z
Guest guest
Hi- I went through the same thing with my daughter. She didn't start taking naps until she was over 1. She is now 3 and takes good naps but she never took a nap when she was a baby. I could not believe that she never slept but that was her. I was always so tired because she was up all day and slept so good at night but we were still having to get up and feed her at night so she got rest and not us. Hang in there, it does get better with time. Our hardest time was when Laikyn was birth to 15 months.
Guest guest
, I don't know if this is common, but it sure seems to be. My son has always fought naps and now does at school, but not at home. , Jonah's mom Won't sleep, too tired for full dinner. > Stirling has had all of 20 mins sleep ALL DAY, He is 6 1/2 mths old. > As a result he is now too tired to eat much of his solid food.
