Guest guest
I just wanted to pass on some information, actually a simple test, that took that greatly helped with her health, especially her stomach and intestinal track problems. Hydrochloric acid (HCL) is important for digestion and absorption (especially proteins) of many nutrients in the stomach. When HCL acid is lacking, malnutrition can result. Also, because HCL acid kills many bacteria, yeasts, and parasites, its insufficiency is associated with greater incidence of gastrointestinal infection. Using a very simple home test you can measure HCL acid to get a rough indication for low HCL acid. Our doctor had all our family members perform this test, and you guessed it, three of the five of us were low including . If you are interested in doing this test you will need some FRESH baking soda. The most scientific test for assessment of HCL acid levels is the Heidelberg test. Gastrocaps can also be used to measure HCL acid levels with good accuracy. Both these methods are somewhat cumbersome however, and involve a visit to a doctor for you to swallow a special capsule, which is used to measure acid levels. To perform the Baking Soda Test: mix one quarter teaspoon of baking soda in eight ounces of cold water (for children & infants, if you feel it nessary, you can dilute more, but not more than by half, otherwise it will not be effective), first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking anything except water. Drink the baking soda solution. Time how long it takes to belch. If you have not belched within five minutes stop the test and this is a pretty good indication that you have a low HCL acid level. If your stomach is producing adequate amounts of hydrochloric acid you should probably belch within two to three minutes. Early and repeated belching is consistent with excessive stomach acid. Belching results from the acid and baking soda reacting to form carbon dioxide gas. The Heidelberg or Gastrocap tests can be used for confirmation of the results of the baking soda test.
