Guest guest
Jo! This is fantastic!! I haven't bowled yet, but I did go horseback riding! I used to show and train quarter horses but haven't been able to ride in 14 years in fear of killing the poor beast! It was so great! I will have to try bowling now! What is so great ...If the opportunity presents itself, I can say " I'd love to! " instead of " I'd better not " Take care Jo > Jo! > > This is fantastic!! Guest guest
When I was in high school, I had an Irish Hunter/Clydesdale cross, 18 hands high, nice heavy bones, & I rode until I was ~270... then even though he was a big, sturdy gelding, I got scared I was too fat, & I sold him. I probably could have ridden him to almost 100 lbs more, but I'll never know. I used to dream of breeding a belgian/ quarterhorse cross so I'd have a HUGE sturdy horse with strong joints... and I'd have a horse I could ride forever. Instead, I was given a tiny Arab gelding.. he'd been abused and because I was willing to work with him, his people gave him to me. I gave him to someone in my church family when I moved back to TX.. my Honda CRX just couldn't handle the horse trailer, lol.. I miss my horses. Guest guest
LOL, Judie!! A " hand " is a method of measuring a horse from the shoulder down.. a hand is ~4 inches, so my horse was ~4x18= 72 inches tall?(I'm doing the math in my head). LOL.. its just a way of saying he was one big tall horse, lolol! Hugs, Liane > Ok Liane......excuse my ignorance but what does that mean when you say " 18 > hands " ?? I have visions of the horse having 18 hands like we have LOL > > Hugs, Judie
