Was it always all the way through or did it spread?Well, it sort of depends. I like to think it was (at one point) localized to the left side, because when I was still getting the muscle tests from my chiropractor, the muscle weakness went from being in all three sections of colon, to only the transverse and descending, to only the descending (left side). And I sort of trust that, just because of all the experiences I had there that coincided with what my body was telling me. When I was first diagnosed and got a colonoscopy, it was throughout my entire colon, so that's what my GI doctor looks at. So, no enemas =( The few people I know on Imuran, which is almost the same, took a while to see results. Solid BM's are a welcome change I bet!Yes!! It's still weird, since I had D for so long. I just cant wait until I have solid BMs WITHOUT meds!! It's the little things we get excited about.... like today I thought of something.You know you have UC when you're excited because you can use the bathroom spray since it smelled like something other than blood and mucus! I got excited today because it was actually stinky! I think i'm crazy...Lol, , that's funny but so sad at the same time =( Maybe you should up your prednisone dose or something. You don't want to bleed so much that you get anemic, since then you have to deal with stupid iron pills, infusions, etc... Guest guest Posted May 15, 2010 Report Share Posted May 15, 2010 You know you have UC when you're excited because you can use the bathroom spray since it smelled like something other than blood and mucus! ,IME, the best way to get rid of excess mucous is to drastically lower intake of dairy or stop it altogether.
