Guest guest
You can't " push the bone back down " . Instead you hold the prominent area so new growth won't go to that area. The new growth will go where there is room in the band. So if you have extra height, it won't go away, but by directing the growth to other places, the overall proportion will change, and head shape will improve. You can help flat areas to fill in, but you cannot reduce the size of any part of the head. If you think about it, it makes sense because what would happen to the brain in that area if you pushed the bone in? For example my daughter had brachy with extra width. The width is still there but by directing the growth to the back, the head is more proportional. She head was slightly higher in the back on one side, I think that went away, but maybe I just don't notice it now. If you look at Sydney's starscan you'll see how the band kept her head from growing wider, but the back grew quite at bit. Instead this doc. instantly recommended pt for torticolis (which was a new discovery for us) and then cranial manipulation to correct the shape of his head. This sort of manipulation just sounds like it has some really bad mojo to me! But my husband is all for it. I am in the midst of researching it right now. Can anyone lend me any info. on this sort of procedure. Is it good? bad? or ugly? > > > If you are referring to taking your child to a chiropractor I would also like to hear if anyone has had experience with alternative treatments such as this. Specifically if they did cracking or just treat certain target points. My husband does not prefer this field of medicine at all but it's worth exploring all options. I am curious how others feel. It's one thing for an adult but on a baby? I'm very hesitant. >
