This sort of manipulation just sounds like it has some really bad mojo to me! But my husband is all for it. I am in the midst of researching it right now. Can anyone lend me any info. on this sort of procedure. Is it good? bad? or ugly? > If you are referring to taking your child to a chiropractor I would also like to hear if anyone has had experience with alternative treatments such as this. Specifically if they did cracking or just treat certain target points. My husband does not prefer this field of medicine at all but it's worth exploring all options. I am curious how others feel. It's one thing for an adult but on a baby? I'm very hesitant.
Guest guest
Some people do cranial sacral therapy (CST). It is considered an alternative treatment for plagio (as in alternative medicine). Some people swear it works, but it doesn't have good scientific studies to back it up. To me it is a bit of hocus pocus, but I don't see any harm doing it along with banding, and it may help. However I would be reluctant to skip banding and do only CST. With CST there is very gentle pressure put on on the baby - they say it is the weight of a nickle - to manipulate the cerebro-spinal fluid (this is how I remember the description). You can search old messages from CST; you'll find a lot. It is good that you're getting pt for the tort, since that is key. Unless your child is very young & /or very mild plagio I would seriously consider banding too. -christine sydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad > > My husband and I just took our son to another doctor today for a second opinion on his condition (again seeking some sort of eval. for wether or not he needed the helmet therapy).
