Guest guest
Eileen, here is a snippet of 2 things I read on another SCD board: One person said her immunologist told her she was allergic to candida, and that treating that got rid of the symptoms of candida overgrowth. She said the symptoms that candida causes you to feel are mostly from the allergy to the yeast. The immunologist also told her to eat fruit, because avoiding it all together makes the candida dig its roots further into the gut to find sugar. A second person said the use of medications and prescription pharmaceuticals often fail because they are normally prescribed for periods longer then 20-30 days. This allows the Candida to build up a resistance to the medication, and it stops working. When this occurs, the Candida grows back stronger and able to resist the original medicine. Food for thought anyway! Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > it's absurd isn't it??!!!!
