Guest guest
My daughter , soon 16 months - STILL does not have a single tooth - not even any signs of teething. I realize delayed teething is also related to bone age - but at some point should I be concerned? I am sure there is nothing I can do about how fast her teeth come - but 16 months seems awfully late doesn't it??? How old were some of your kids when they got their first tooth? Guest guest
Jane My 12 year old son Adam was around 12 months when his first tooth finally erupted. One thing you might consider is to ask your dentist to do a " panoramic " x-ray. I was going crazy when Adam was 7 and 8 years old that his baby teeth were not falling out so my dentist finally (to shut me up! LOL) did one of these x-rays. It lets us see under the gum line and so I had proof the boy DID have adult teeth down there. Unfortunately NONE were pointing upwards, but were all lying helter-skelter all on top of one another and it took awhile for some to right themselves and come out. This might at least reduce some of your fears. If we can take the worry away in just one area, sometimes that can be the best idea! Guest guest
My daughter had her first teeth at 16 months, only the lower 2. At 25 months finally her upper tooth is appearing. I know how anxious you might feel I felt the same way that she will never teeth. Around one year she had an x-ray and I was so relieved when her teeth showed up, atleast she had them inside, then the doctor laughed and said they have the teeth inside before they are born. Guest guest
Hi Jane, Jillian was almost 15 months before she got her first tooth which was a molar! I thought she had an object in her mouth and was wrestling with her to get it out when she bit me! The rest of her teeth (except 2 back molars) arrived within 2 months after the first one. She's currently trying to cut those last 2 back teeth as well as battling a nasty tonsillitis and pneumonia. She is quite miserable. Can you feel 's teeth under her gums? Is she chewing and biting on stuff? I've heard if they are delayed getting their teeth, the final bone growth is also delayed which wouldn't be a bad thing in our kids. I do not know if this is true however. Does anyone know if this is rumor or fact?? > > My daughter , soon 16 months - STILL does not have a single tooth - not even any signs of teething. Guest guest
Thank you to those who replied for my questions on teeth. I can see an outline in 's gums of teeth, but, no she is not biting on things like my boys did when they were getting their teeth. I am just going to be patient and wait, nothing else really to do about it anyway right? Jane mom to - 16 months on the 8th - and gumming her way up in the world! Guest guest
Hi Jane, started getting his teeth much earlier than . His teeth just started to pop when his g-tube was placed and he was finally getting some good nutrition. But I thought I would let you know, that he never chewed on things, and he never drooled! I thought that was weird! LOL Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 3 yrs old, 23.5# (10.7kg), 32.8 " (83.3cm), G-Tube)
