I am getting ready to have my consult with Dr Hess on the first of November. Since the subject of pancreatic cancer has reared its ugly head I am starting to think maybe I am not a canidate for the DS. My mother was diagnosed with Pacreatic cancer 18 months ago. She is a type 2 diabetic , they discovered the cancer when she became jaundice. Mom is 73, doctors say her age is helping slow down the rate of cancer cell growth. we all prepared for a quick passing. Being her daughter, am I correct in thinking the DS will increase my chances for this type of cancer? From what I know about Pancreatic cancer it usually is detected way to late to save most lives. I will add these questions to my Dr hess list yet thought I would throw my thoughts out her too. This is a wonderful group of people, am I glad to be here.. polly
Guest guest
Polly, Polly, Polly, I am so sorry. We have been having an extended discusion about other surgeries, NOT THE DS. The DS has no increased risk of pancreatic surgery. Please, never fear! Hugs, theresa > In a message dated 10/27/01 10:03:34 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > duodenalswitch@y... writes: > > > > P.S.
