Guest guest
, Sorry to hear you are feeling miserable. I have a few questions: where was the cream compounded? What filler is used in the pills? What dosage were you on and for how long? I have read on the LDN yahoo boards that it sometimes takes a year on LDN to see results. I saw results right away, but keep in mind I was on the SCD for 4+ years before starting LDN. I would say to get back on the LDN after your round of prednisone, I would still recommend the cream, compounded from CoastalCompounding.com, the originators of the cream formula using emu oil. I would choose the immune modulator (LDN) over a drug that kills off the immune system (methotrexate). But that’s just me. For me, the first few years on SCD were a roller coaster ride, well really more like a sine wave, with longer and longer stretches of symptom free days between flares. Not to discourage you or anything, but healing takes time. I’d stick to the SCD and add the LDN back in when you can. One thing LDN brings to the surface is candida, I’m sure you know that. I had to deal with it, mainly by eating low carb and rotating anti-fungals. LDN won’t work properly with a candida overgrowth (I still do not understand why). I hope you feel better. Do I need to suggest that old stand-by, Epsom salt bath? Hang in there. Carol CD 22 yrs SCD 5 yrs So I was on LDN for awhile and the cream did not do anything for me. I was taking the pill form but I am flaring so bad my doc put me on prednisone. I am on 25mg prednisone and that isn't even really cutting it. They want to try methotrexate but I don't know what to do. I have LDN pills left and know I can take those when I get down to 10mg of prednisone but I don't know if it is a good idea since I am flaring. The diet helps but geez I have a terrible burning in my low pelvic area and my stools are loose. I cannot get it to settle down with diet alone and I don't want to go much higher on the prednisone. Anyway, can any SCD and LDN users talk to me about their success/failure with LDN? I don't know if I gave it a long enough trial. So confused and getting angry!
