Is Paneer Cheese Legal?

Wikipedia says: " The farmer cheese sold in Western countries, and dry curd

cottage cheese, are similar except that they are made from cultured milk and

often salted. "

and

" the making of paneer does not involve rennet as the coagulation agent, thus

making it completely lacto-vegetarian "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paneer

Seems like it'd be okay to me, and something that could be eaten in the early

phase of the diet, maybe?

I'm just guessing though, I'd like to have someone with more experience clarify

this for me.

Thank you!
