Guest guest
To all: I looked up " low purine diet " on the Google search engine, and found all kinds of info. Purine is a chemical found in certain foods, which, when broken down produces uric acid. A buildup of uric acid in the body can cause gout, and kidney stones. A " Purine Metabolism " paper is posted on this list. In it is says that " one subclass of ASD , patients with all the attributes of classic infantile autism (DSM-IV, 1994) have been found to excrete an amount of uric acid that is > 2 S.D. above the normal mean " . I will have to look back into test results for my son to see whether this is an issue for him. Thanks, Peg in NH > Could someone tell me what a low purine diet would consist of? > > Thanks, > Peg in NH
