Guest guest
Hey Dayna, Do you have a Ped Surgeon, or any physician that has any experience with buttons??? It sounds to me like the stoma has tightened around the smaller portion of the button stem. I don't know if it can do this, but that is what it sounds like. I would worry about pulling the button myself, just in case, once you get it out, you can't get a new one back in place. As a last resort, you might consider taking her to your local ER?? Hope this helps. Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 3 yrs old, 23.5# (10.7kg), 32.8 " (83.3cm), G-Tube)
Guest guest
Hi Dayna, I don't use a mini button (we use a regular mic-key) and we haven't had this problem before. Have you tried lubricating around the area before pulling it out? I know when we re-insert a button we always lubricate the site to make it easier to slide it. Vaseline (or any similar product) is what we use. Good luck, Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 4 3/4 year old twins
Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestion. Apparently it's not stuck where we can lubricate. Mostly I'm afraid if I tug and get this one out I may not be able to get the new one in!! Then I'd have to go the the stupid ER and we are about to have an ice storm. Not my idea of fun with a 3yr old and a 2month old!! I may just try to move it a lot and wait it out. Our Ped just doesn't know anything about the buttons and we don't have a GI or surgeon here. THANKS! Dayna _____ From: Sidny27 Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2005 2:48 PM To: RSS-Support Subject: Re: Help with Mini Button. . .it's STUCK!
