Guest guest
I don't know how many here are on Plavix but I imagine a few considering its one of the most prescribed meds. This isn't a reason for panic but there is information that Prilosec and Nexium may interfere with its full effect. For anyone on blood thinner, whether Plavix or others, I would just suggest making sure you have labs that check how they are doing in your body. Dosages may need to be adjusted. This is really true of any meds you take that can me measured through labs. With the combinations many of us are on, who knows what is fighting what. There is one part of this news that is a bit bothersome. At the same time these studies are showing this, Astra Zeneca, which markets Prilosec and Nexium is filing an application on their own blood thinner to compete with Plavix. They have in the past been accused by other pharmaceuticals and medical professionals of manipulating markets and products. But the word I guess I stress is that with all the meds many here are taking, make sure if there are labs to monitor them and potential side effects they are being done. There are so many interactions and more being found every day. Also, watch supplements and take those only after consulting your doctor because they can interact as well.
