Guest guest
Chrissy - Who said that the growth hormone caused her early puberty. Dr. H didn't tell you that, did she? And do you mean puberty or adrenarche? Adrenarche is when their is body hair and/or body odor. Puberty (gonadarche) is when testicular volume increases and/or breast buds begin. That is the onset of puberty -- then menarche, of course, for girls. I have just started working on that section of the guidebook (adrenarche/puberty) and not a single study found that SGA/RSS children on growth hormone had an earlier onset of puberty compared to SGA/RSS children not on growth hormone. However, many many RSS/SGA children have early onset adrenarche (where they get some body hair, often peach fuzz, and body odor). I want to make sure that Dr. H didn't tell you something different -- as she had just told me in January that 's early adrenarche had nothing to do with the GH, as the studies have indicated. Will you email me back? > Hello everyone, > We came home from the hospital last night and we're in NYC to see Dr. H > by 3pm today. > after 15 min of being disaplined she calmed down and began to set a > treatment plan for Madison.
