nick, I had been on either Prilosec or Prevacid (for me,

interchangeable in effectiveness, and choice depended on my health

insurer's formulary) for almost 10 years. After five months post-op,

I just weaned myself of either/both. I no longer take acid

preventers/inhibitors. Even TUMS. BTW, Nexium is Prilosec, slightly

modified for patent protection, as the patent on Prilosec has run

out, and you should soon be able to get the generic.
