Guest guest
With a starting BMI that low, 36 lbs in 8 weeks sounds great! Remember that everything is relative; the lighter you are before surgery, the less you have to lose. It's unfair to compare your numbers to another person's numbers when you're talking about number of pounds. It is more accurate to compare percentages of excess body weight. If you're on track to a 50% of excess weight lost by 6 months out, you're doing a-okay! Of course, this is the very information I'm trying to get ingrained in my thick pre-op skull. At 225 lbs, I logically know that my weight loss will seem smaller compared to someone mu ch heavier. Of course, the emotional and less logical side of me just wants to see the big numbers! Hang in there, and please someone make me eat my words when I'm the one feeling like it's not coming off fast enough.. ~alyssa pre-op waiting for ins approval surgery date: 12/20/01 with dr. keshishian Re: Am I eating too much? > Thanks, Beth. Sorry I forgot to mention my starting BMI was 41.
