Guest guest
Hello everyone. My son is 3.5 mo old and has torticollis as well as plagiocephaly. We just noticed this so we've been to PT and are trying the exercises they suggested at home (easier said than done) and more tummy time in addition to trying to vary his head position throughout the day. He has an appt. w/craniotechnologies (Phoenix) in a week so I will know more about the severity. I'm told we should try to fix this with positioning. I've been reading up on some of the various suggestions but have a few questions. The first is about sleeping at night. I have a sleep wedge (2 foam things on either side attached w/velcro) so I'm trying to get him to sleep on his side that is not flat and wedging these close to his sides, he sometimes still rolls on his back. Do I still vary his side sleeping each night and risk flattening on the round side or what? I've been told not to place him on his flat side at all so this is why I'm asking. A lot of advice out there says to vary the position in the crib. Also, what types of devices are you all using in the crib to keep them from rolling on their back? I have googled the brand names of some of the wedges suggested but can't seem to find any of them, only one on Amazon created by " Dr. Plagio " . Lastly, if you have to run errands, make trips in the car for 1 hour or so, what is acceptable time in the car seat? What things do you use like towels, foam, etc? Is it ok to have them sleep in the car seat if you have these things in place? Just curious and I want to make sure I'm doing what I'm supposed to. Thanks!
