Guest guest
My son's doctor didn't recommend it, because they don't know for sure if it means you will not get it, and that it might only delay it (which is an awful thing to get when you are older--in the form of shingles). She said that if he had not gotten chicken pox by the time he was, say, ten or twelve thereabouts, then, I should give it to him then to try to prevent him getting it as an adult. Instead of oatmeal baths, you can use witch hazel and/or aloe vera extract in the bath water to cut the itching. Also, if your child can take it, Benadryl also helps (with itching and with sensory issues).
