Guest guest
HI there - my daughter is 9 with rss - she also had/has shocking teeth( crooked, turned brown/ black and decayed quickly)We always put the problem down to pediasure and antibiotic use before her teeth came thru - now her 2nd teeth are coming thru (also out of place - probably need braces) they are also prone to decay - the dental nurse is doing her best to prevent by putting on some sort of coating every time she has a tooth come thru which helps prevent decay.Apart from that she recommended a mouth rinse (littlies can swallow!)only available thru dentists over here called Colgate FlouroCare( contains acidulated phosphate flouide) has certainly improved things a bit - hope this helps - Lee-Anne Mum to Georgia - May 9 rss and Buster 5 ( with perfect teeth!) New Zealand Dental problems associated with RSS I have a 2 and a half year old boy called Sonny, diagnosed with Silver . As soon as his top front teeth came through they were stained brown in places. Once the other teeth appeared they quickly began to turn black. Sonny doesn't eat solids, and he only drinks milk or water so I am really puzzled as to why his teeth are like this. He is now on a waiting list at Great Ormond St Hospital to have at least 6 teeth removed. Has anyone else experienced such a problem? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi, I have always had bad teeth. When my baby teeth first came in they basically would just fall apart, I had silver caps on most of my teeth until my adult teeth came in. My adult teeth are better but still veryprone to decay, I think I may have had one dental cleaning when I didn't have any cavities. I had to have my two front bottom teeth removed because I simply didn't have any room in my mouth for them. Good luck. Guest guest
Hey Brigitte, Have you tried a terry cloth wash rag??? It was the first thing we used with . We started by dipping it in ice cold water (which he loves) and when he was going through his " salty " period, we even used soy sauce, if that got him to allow the rag in his mouth! You might not be able to get all the surfaces, but it's better than doing nothing at all, and persistence is the name of the game here. Make time, usually 10-15 minutes, EVERY night where you work on first getting her to allow you to rub the front teeth, then move into the cheek pockets little by little until you can get further and further back. I've found that routine helps. Doing things the same way each and every time, so that the kids know what to expect. We went from a baby wash rag, to a nubbier wash rag, to a nubby NUK, to a infant finger brush, to a toothbrush! I STILL don't use toothpaste because hates it and it makes him gag. I have tried just a very small amount baking soda, and he's done fine with that. And if swallowed, it works as an antacid! LOL Hope this helps!
