Guest guest
Hi , My son was late to be potty trained. He was potty trained in the day long before he was potty trained at night. I think it was over a year later before he could sleep through the night. Even then, he had numerous accidents. We were told that RSS kids are late to potty train becuase they have small bladders and low muscle tone. Since it takes them longer to build up their muscle, it takes them longer to be potty trained. Try not to rush it. it will happen in time. I hope this helps. Ken M > Well I ended up having to take Hailey back to the doctor today(her > ped). She has another double ear infection. Guest guest
hi i know about the bed wetting, kyla has been potty trained for about a year, she was a late-bloomer i guess you could say, butshe still wears pullups at night (she is 4) she calls them night night panties and they HAVE to have disney princess' on them, our pediatrician said it was normal, not sure if it really has to do with RSS i guess that is a good question maybe someone else can answer that?? sometimes she feels brave and won't wear them so i make her potty before bedtime, and if she is still awake when i go lay down i ask heragain if she needs to go, but she still had accidents, so i was the bed anyways, princess of course, hope this helps, stephanie kyla 4 rss, jonathan 19 months bad boy!! > Well I ended up having to take Hailey back to the doctor today(her > ped). Guest guest
Hello, How old is Hailey? na is 4. We are still Potty training her. We tried at 2 and no success so her pedi said her bladder is small try again in six months. we tried then and again and again. He said no one has gone to 1st grade in pull ups so don't worry. Of course i didn't want to hear that seeing she is in preschool. We started again only this time we didn't go back to pull ups she has wet a few times one day 12 times the next 10 now we are down to 2. I make it sticker game, at night she gets one sticker til the row is full. one row when she wakes up, then when it is full we get a small book or colored pencil. ( she picked her prizes) If she has an accident then we wait a day for the prize. So far it has been working but at night i think she is in such a deep sleep that she just goes. I got kyle pads at a medical store for under the sheets to save the bed. Good luck let me know how she does Marcy nas mom wrote: Well I ended up having to take Hailey back to the doctor today(her ped). She has another double ear infection. One worse than the other. While we were at the doctor I asked him about the appetite stimulant. He had never heard of it being used for that before. He said he knew it was good for headaches, so he looked it up. When he came back he said that he found out that it is sometimes used for that but wanted to wait until we go to the new genetic doctor before trying that. We are scheduled to go to an allergist on the 28th of June so I will ask about it then too since it is also for treating allergies. We will see what this doc says. Another question that I have.....Does anyone's child besides mine still wet at night besides mine? Hailey is potty trained during the day, but she needs a pullup for naps and bedtime. Maybe because their bladders are too small? Just wondering if this was a normal thing or if it has anything to do with RSS. As you all can see, I am trying to find out all I can that goes along with RSS so that I can find out what to expect. It seems like everything Hailey has been through so has everyone else. And where can you get those RSS growth charts? Hope all is well with everyone and thanks for all the feedback. ---------------------------------
Guest guest
hey melissa!! sorry to hear hailey is sick still!! as far as the bedwetting my 7yr old non-rss son still wets the bed at night and has to wear a good night every time to bed. christopher-rss also wears a pull up to bed at night and he is 4yrs. it has more to do with the child i think than the rss. the growth chart you can get through magic if you become a member!! good luck!! jodie c

Guest guest
Hi , is 5 and like Tori started potty training at 3 1/2. At first she wore a pull up to bed, but she was always dry in the morning and continuses to be dry and does not wear a pull up. In fact, drinks pediasure or chocolate milk with a snack right before bed, goes to the potty and then to bed and she will still wake up in the morning and the majority of the time I have to tell her to get on the potty. I think a lot of it is just an individual thing. As far as the RSS growth charts, if you contact the MAGIC Foundation you can get them there.
