Guest guest
I don't have her measurements yet (they are mailing them to me), but I wanted to go ahead and share her exit photos. She completed her DOCband treatment last week after 11 weeks. She has left Torticollis and had some mild flatness behind her right ear, but our biggest concern was her ear asymmetry. If I remember correctly, her right ear was originally 10mm ahead of the left. She also had some mild facial/eye/jaw asymmetry. Overally, I think that I'm pretty happy with the results. Her ears are still not perfect, but they ARE better than they were. But I would love some input from others. I will update with her measurements once I get them in a few days. You can find her original scans under Mia in the albums and her exit photos are at the end of the M album, also. The DSI scan did NOT happen (it was traumatic the first time, and no better at her exit appointment, so we just had to stop) - so I will only have the manual measurements for comparison purposes. Thanks! Kim
Guest guest
Hi Kim I looked at Mia's pictures, and to be honest her head looks pretty good in both sets of pictures (old and new). However I know the pictures don't always capture everything. Also I can see her tort quite a bit still, and the tilt makes it a bit harder to see asymmetry sometimes. I'm glad you are pleased with the results. I would be interested in the measurements once you get them. -christine sydney, 3.5 yrs, starband grad > > I don't have her measurements yet (they are mailing them to me), but I wanted to go ahead and share her exit photos. Guest guest
,Her flatness was only mild - it was the ear asymmetry that was the big issue for us. It's not perfect, but it's a lot less apparent then it was. But you're correct, her head was never completely flat on the back. Behind her right ear was a bit flat, but not significantly so. Guest guest
I just looked at Mia's pictures. Like said, she never looked too bad to begin with but I can see where her head filled out in the back right side of her head by looking at the top view pictures. The picture where she is laying down and facing up is a bad picture, in my opinion, because she is not laying straight like in the before picture. That one would have shown her facial and ear misalignment improvement better than any other. This said, she really looks great and I am sure that measurement will reflect what they pictures are showing. Just keep working on the tort... Guest guest
Yeah, I agree about that photo. Quite honestly, we began treatment at the Charlotte office (and drove from GA) but we then moved to VA and switched to the ndale office for the last few appointments (still a long trip!), and we got VERY different treatment. We adored the Charlotte office, but the clinicians that we saw at the ndale office usually had an attitude like dealing with our child was such an inconvenience. I warned them ahead of time that she will NOT just sit there and let the DSI run or allow them to take pictures and that she will be hysterical, but they really didn't even try like the Charlotte office did - they basically made me feel like *I* was doing this to her (torturing her) and kept saying, 'are you SURE you want to try again, mom?'. Well, obviously I want the photos/measurements/DSI scan - I paid a lot of money for the treatment and want to see proper results/comparisons. In the end, we never got an exit DSI and the person who took the photos rushed through them and never even tried with toys/noises/whatever to get Mia to calm down or look the right way. I kept asking if she was sure that she got good shots and she just blew me off and said 'yaya, I got them'. And then it took 2 weeks of hounding them to even get the photos e-mailed to me. They won't e-mail me the measurements because they said that I won't understand them (um.. okay), so they're mailing them. Anyway, I didn't mean to gripe about them - we just got a very different (disappointing) feeling from the ndale office vs. the fabulous treatment we got in Charlotte. You'd think that they would be more persistent and accomodating, especially when you're traveling 4 hours each way for appointments.
