Guest guest
I feel like I am in a dream. " When the Lord turned again (our captivity) we were as they that dream..... " I have a SUGERY DATE OF NOVEMBER 19th!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~! I got back from Eugene yesterday afternoon, after seeing Dr. Welker on Monday. The bottom line is I got a date, Dr. Welker is an amazing man, GOD IS GOOD! I had suspected and now I know for sure , that I have compartment syndrome, which is fairly severe, and I have shallow breathing, so my apprehensions about a lap surgery, re: being under anesthesia for a much longer time, were well founded, it seems. I am going to have an open DS with an umbilical hernia repair that can STILL be tucked or folded or any thing else Dr. Welker wants to do with it in 18 months or so. While Esme ( MY DAUGHTER-IN-LOVE)and I were meeting Dr. W and going back into the examining room, Dr. Welker was called for a consult about a super MO lady who had hernia repair blowouts (my term) and bad adhesions and several other surgeons there refused/couldn't touch her so one of them suggested that they ask Dr. Welker. He ran over to the hospital, right then, to give an opinion, and then ran back and saw me. He was to operate on her after my appointment. If I were him I wouldn't have been able to concentrate on MY weight loss story, or MY medical records, I would have been planning how I would treat THAT desperate woman, but he concentrated on ME and asked appropriate questions and gave great input and wrote down all my " wishes " for my " dream surgery " . I am confidant that if any of my requests are possible, in view of the best outcomes for my health, he will do them. He answered every question Esme and I asked him. I am so glad he is who he is, and I thank God that he is my surgeon.
