Hi Katy! I am well versed on this topic. Abby had her first set of ear tubes

last March...her second set went in yesterday. She has also had her tonsils and

adnoids out this past May. My son who is nonRSS had his first set of ear tubes

one year ago and his second set yesterday. My son also had his adnoids removed

yesterday. If you like to pass my email address on to the mother please feel

free to...nickolfamily@....

By the way, did you find a flight to Indy? I am so excited. Congrats on being

a breast cancer survivor, Jenn told me. My mom is a 13 year survivor so I

understand what you are going through from a family point of view.

Email me or call me when you time. Thanks.

Amy (mom to Abby-4 1/2 RSS periactin GH; Tyler-3 nonRSS; Baby Boy due in July)

Hi,

A parent has written me about her RSS son's upcoming Adenoid, Tonsil

and ear tube surgeries. I have encouraged her to join the listserve,

but in the meantime, if anyone has any advice or information her

doctors should know about when it comes to doing these procedures on

an RSS child, let me know! I'll forward your postings to her.

Thanks so much,

Katy

Hi Katy,

had his done 6/03 by a pediatric ent recommended by Dr H (we

are spoiled being so near NYC). Because of potential issues of air

leakage from the high palate's many RSS children have the adenoids

and tonsils were shaved down (partially removed)instead of fully

removed.

Other than that, was scheduled as the first surgery of the

morning so that he went without food for the least amount of time

possible and he stayed overnight after the surgery as a precaution

to make sure he was tolerating his tube feeds.

Judith, Steve, (RSS) and (non RSS) 5 year old twins
