Guest guest
That's great news! Congratulations and I'm glad you posted it for us. Nice to hear a good success ;-). Debbie 41 cd After being told exactly one year ago that my ulcerativecolitis was severe and I would have no choice but to go on steriods and other horrible medications... I found this diet!!! It has made such a difference in my life. I am no longer house bound or worried about where the closest washroom is. It hasn't been easy to follow this diet but it has been worth it!!! I've never cheated and at times wanted to give up because I had good days and then bad days but time says it all. I have recently had a colonoscopy and to the surprise of my doctor (who didn't believe in my diet) my severe ulcerative colitis which had destroyed 70% of my colon is now considered mild colitis and is affecting only 8 inches of my colon. I just want to say thank you to all of the people who have helped me along the way and I'd also like to say to new members don't give up, time will help you heal. Guest guest
Congrats. That is really awesome news. I haven't been to the doctor since I started the diet in January 08. That's bad, but she said diet had nothing to do with it. I think if I could find a local GI that accepted diet as a remedy, I would go to measure my progress. I was also at the point to where my doc said if I didn't get on humira or remicaid that my very aggressive Crohn's would land me in surgery within a year. She originally thought I had mild to moderate Crohn's. I guess I'll eventually go back. I'm in a bit of a flare right now (too much peanut and almond butter over the last few weeks I think) and thought about breaking down and going, but decided against it. I don't want to go to her now after being so well for the last 2 years and be in a flare so she can say " I told you diet had nothing to do with it " . I'm stubborn by the way. Guest guest
Ah ah ! I totally understand your point. That's one of my main goal in life, to prove all my doctors I can get in total remission (Cronh's, arthritis) and don't need any meds... And i'm a fighter Good luck with your flare. I can't wait the day I won't see any blood in my BM.
