Guest guest
I have one and the only thing I use it for is to mince garlic. I hate that job and with the bullet, i just peel the garlic, throw them in the bullet and in 15 seconds its minced (well more than minced actaully) but it works like a charm. Good luck! Holly O. Crohn's 5/09 SCD 9/1/09 I got a magic bullet for Mother's Day ( in addition to my ice cream maker...yea!!) I am finding that my cheap small $14 one from Walmart makes a better smoothie. The Magic Bullet does grate cheese well, which is exciting, but I can't seem to chop an onion or make salsa w/out pulverizing it to liquid - even though I am only " pulsing' the machine. Does anyone else own one and have you found it useful? It's an expensive little machine to not do everything it says it will. I told my husband I'd like one but that I might return it if it doesn't live up to my expectations! Marla -- Holly
Guest guest
That's an expensive garlic grater I hate mincing garlic too. I did put a small piece of cheddar cheese in the bullet and it grated it nicely (I hate grating cheese too)....anyone have any good ideas for that one??? But my bullet smoothies have chunks that I haven't been able to get rid of. If only we could invent the perfect kitchen utensil that would do it all....and clean itself Marla From: Holly Owens Sent: Tuesday, May 11, 2010 11:29 AM To: BTVC-SCD Subject: Re: magic bullet? At target, I got what we call the "garlic robot." It's a little plastic capsule lookin thing about the size of your fist that has wheel/gear thing and you just....wow this sounds confusing. Here's a link with a picture =)http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://assets.unclutterer.com/wp-content/uploads/091021-unitasker1.jpg & imgrefurl=http://unclutterer.com/2009/10/21/unitasker-wednesday-chefn-garlic-zoom/ & usg=__EffiOvRD--0b9sDA1Ee6P4MZSOw= & h=359 & w=330 & sz=22 & hl=en & start=3 & um=1 & itbs=1 & tbnid=UwwxYwhY-CuTHM: & tbnh=121 & tbnw=111 & prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgarlic%2Bmincer%2Broller%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26tbs%3Disch:1It works pretty well for mincing garlic, and it's not too bad to clean as long as you rinse it RIGHT away. Otherwise the garlic hardens on and it's just horrible. But anyways. For grating cheese we have this ancient salad shooter thing that works really well. It just has a chute at the top that you put the cheese into and it squirts it out the other end. Guest guest
I don't have any blender or food processor (yet...) so I use the magic bullet for pretty much everything... From baked good batter, apple sauce, smoothies, almond milk, cauliflower puree, nut flour, even nut butter... fruit sorbet (put frozen pineaple pieces in it with a few spoons of water or fruit juice and pulse it until the texture is smooth... yummm). For now, the only advantage is that it requires less space than a food processor. The only counter available for big equipment is occupied by a 2-horsepower champion's juicer, which is one of my best friend right now Annie > > I got a magic bullet for Mother's Day ( in addition to my ice cream maker...yea!!) > > I am finding that my cheap small $14 one from Walmart makes a better smoothie.
